Principals' Message

Dear New and Prospective Clark Prep Families -

Thank you for your interest in Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School. We are extremely proud of our school and the physical, cultural and especially academic progress that we have made in our just one year as a new FirstLine charter school. Due to the hard work of our student body, teachers, supporting staff, alumni and families, we have shown that the legacy of Joseph S. Clark and the Tremé community will be continued for many years in the future.

As we look forward to our second year in 2012- 2013, we will enter knowing that our 2012 class of 90 seniors received over 150 college acceptances and over $3 million in scholarships. We plan to exceed even those great benchmarks in the upcoming year. At Clark Prep, we believe in Community, Scholarship and Discipline as the guiding principles that will lead all our young people to become excellent citizens and leaders in our city and in the world beyond.

What you will find at Clark Prep is a combination of innovation and tradition as you walk through our halls. We believe in the legacy of success created by our alumni, and the cultural history that they have helped create. You will see that cultural history on our walls and in our cultural programs. We also believe in innovation to help our students succeed, as you will see in our Blended Learning Technology Project, our college counseling and support services programs and our dedication to growth mindset in everything we do. Our goal is no less than to guarantee every Clark Prep student admission to a 4-year university, and to revive the legacy of achievement that the Tremé has long been known for.

We look forward to you becoming part of the Clark Prep family, and creating your own legacy here. The 2012-2013 school year begins August 13, with orientation the week of August 6. Stay tuned for more information about uniforms, activities, open houses and more!

Sincerely,

Alex Hochron, 9th and 10th grades Principal
